National Flag of Whitmount
The National Flag of Whitmount was created in 1590 when the
unrest between the Habsburgian Spanish and the native Netherlandish was settled
in the Treaty of Terneuzen. Although its shape is based of the Union of
Kalmaris flag, with the Nordic Cross, the colours are a mixture of the original
Whitmountian green, the Spanish red, and the Dutch saffron yellow. The green
represents the unusually high amount of forests in Whitmount, the red paying
homage to the Spanish settlers that came to the island in the 2nd century,
and the saffron referencing the Dutch influence.
