The Shield of The Nidu Ylå Xur Shårå (NYXS)
The Nidu Ylå Xur Shårå (NYXS) is the largest youth movement
in Whitmount. Founded in 1835 by Bjarte Pablo Luuk, its original purpose was as
an offshoot of the Escucha movement, which was more focused on survival skills
rather than, as Luuk put it “[the] divine
right of people to enjoy the glory of the church in all parts of the world”.
Following its inception in Thåtát in 1835, the NYXS quickly spread across the Whtimount
and became a worldwide organisation by the early 1890s. As of today, there were
840,000 Nida Ylå, across 40 countries. Its motto, gloria sit Dei creationi, can be roughly translated to Glory to Gods nature. The shield of the
NYXS can be described in heraldic terms as argent
two axes azure, per chevron azure a hand in benediction argent. It was
created by celebrated designer and former Nidu Ylå, Einar Arriola, and is said
to symbolise the strength and purity of the nation.
